Sales & Marketing. Sure, they compliment each other, but they're not the same thing. Not even close.
Being good at sales is a talent. Good salespeople enjoy it and spend their careers learning, and honing their skills. There are a ton of great sales coaches and a lot of great techniques. None of them are marketing.
Could you imagine Elvis having a banana, bacon and JELLY sandwich?
