Marketing is what happens when the sales guy leaves the room. If he leaves the room, and nobody can tell the story, you've got problems.
Think of the front of a box of cake mix. What's the big story? The features (oooh...look it's got niacin and riboflavin)? The process (first, get a big mixing bowl)?
No, it's delicious looking cake.
Simplify, simplify, simplify.
Until you know your customer, don't bombard them with information. Start with the big picture, and if they like it, they'll look at the side of the box.
